IFMIF 9/11 STATEMENT - September 11, 2004 September 11 th , 2004 will mark the third-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington , D.C. . The Islamic Free Market Institute Foundation (IFMIF) joins America in remembering and reflecting on the horrible attacks which murdered innocent civilians in the World Trade Center , the Pentagon, and the fields of Pennsylvania . The impact of the tragedy cannot be overemphasized. Murders masquerading as Muslims knowingly butchered American children, women, and men and forever changed the world in which we live. The Muslim-American community was just as shocked and outraged as the rest of America on September 11 th and it mourns with the nation on this day. On this anniversary of September 11 th the citizenry of the United States will grieve for the victims of the attacks and their families. Americans must also acknowledge the identities of the attackers and their separation from the Islamic faith. In its true form Islam is a religion of peace and charity, not of war and conquest. Murderers like Osama bin Laden are horrible extremists who use Islam to conceal their own selfish desires. What has happened in the days since September 11 th , 2001 is unforgivable. Terrorist plots in Spain , Indonesia , Iraq , and most recently in Russia are intolerable and unforgivable. The Islamic Free Market Institute deplores these acts of violence but urges Americans to understand the difference between "Muslim" and "terrorist." We are your countrymen and your compatriots, and we pray together for those who were lost.
