November 16, 2005 Islamic Free Market Institute Foundation Calls for a Vote in Support of Judge Alito Last month, President Bush nominated a well-qualified and highly respected candidate for the vacancy on the Supreme Court of the United States. Judge Samuel Alito has extensive experience on the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, to which he was confirmed unanimously by the Senate in 1990. His track record demonstrates a great respect for the Constitution and gives us reason to be confident that he would serve his country well as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. Of particular interest to IFMIF, Judge Alito has demonstrated a respect for an individual's free religious expression as protected by the U.S. Constitution. IFMIF urges the Senate Judiciary Committee to expeditiously conduct a thorough and fair hearing and to give the Senate the opportunity to vote on Judge Alito's nomination in a timely manner. |
